Describe yourself in one sentence.

I’m a lover of community, hard work and bad dancing.

Where do you work/go to school?

I recently graduated from Ball State University and I am currently in the throws of a post-grad job search.

Favorite program/tools to use for designing?

Adobe Illustrator/InDesign, pen and paper.

Design hero?

I don’t know about hero, but I really like Walter Teague.

Favorite thing to do outside of work?

Be in nature.

Favorite place in Indy?

The Lawn at White River State Park during a summer concert, right as the Indians set of their victory fireworks. I worked a few summers on the VIP deck at the beginning of college. The sun sets behind the stage and you can see the Indianapolis Zoo’s beacon of hope light up across the river. Then, behind you, the fireworks start. Absolute magic.

How and why did you get involved with AIGA? Approximately how long have you been involved with the organization?

I joined AIGA Indy in August. I knew about AIGA because of my design job on Ball State’s campus and had attended a few events in the Indy area. I wanted to be more involved in the Indy area because I knew I would be moving back home for a while and I knew I wanted to be involved in the local design community.

What are you currently working on?

Because I’m in the midst of a job search, I’ve been working on a lot of smaller passion projects, but I’m also currently helping my family remodel a historic home in Pendleton. The house is a Sears Catalog floor plan. The original owners were a local butcher and his daughters, and the most recent owner was a man who competitively grew giant gourds. We’re going to try to do the history of the home some justice, but first I need to finish repainting the upstairs bedrooms!

Any projects you want to highlight?

One of my favorite projects from college was a zine I made called Soapbox. local artists and writers would submit their work and I would assemble it as an interactive arts and lit zine.
