AIGA Indy and AMA Indy are teaming up to present the 2024 Portfolio Review for students, up-and-coming designers and marketers in the Indianapolis area! But this won't be just any portfolio review—we are also hosting a speaker panel and two workshops geared towards career preparedness. It will be valuable not only to students, but also for anyone early in their career.

This is an awesome opportunity for up-and-coming designers, marketers and those who have recently graduated to network in their field and receive considered and constructive feedback on their work.

During this event, students, emerging designers and marketers will be able to connect with professionals, gain valuable perspectives, and ask questions specific to their job search. Join us as we strengthen our local up-and-coming designers and marketers with a helpful portfolio review!

Who should sign up for the Portfolio Review sessions?

If you are a current student in design or marketing and/or recently graduated with a degree in these fields within the past year and want to ask questions about your portfolio, learn more about the field, and network. Then this event is for you! The portfolio review is open to AIGA Indy and AMA Indy student members and non-members.

Details:

Students/up-and-coming designers and marketers will set up their work (computer, portfolio, business cards, and/or physical projects, etc.) at provided tables and meet with professionals for three 30-minute feedback sessions.

• In each session, you can explore specific projects, ask questions about your field, and strengthen your portfolio with helpful feedback. After the main sessions, there will be an open table discussion and dedicated networking time so that all students and emerging can meet with everyone.
• A helpful guide and agenda will be provided for additional clarity through a virtual Q+A session before the event.

Ticket Purchase:

If you are a current and active student, and member of the AIGA or AMA Indy Chapters, please be sure to select the member ticket you are affiliated with upon checkout.

Non-members and/or recent graduates 1-yr post graduation, please select the Non-Member Portfolio Review ticket option.

PORTFOLIO REVIEW INSTRUCTIONS

• Work can be set up in physical projects (printed pieces) or digitally from a tablet/computer (please bring your laptops/tablets).
• If you have a device to present with, your work can also be presented in a portfolio book format or presentation slides.
• Be prepared to explain your projects and walk through your process with reviewers.
• If you have your resume, please bring at least 4 physical copies (they are easier to mark up)
• We highly recommend bringing business or digital cards to connect with fellow designers!
• We recommend bringing 3-15 projects/case studies to discuss and a pen and paper for critique notes.
• Be ready to ask questions pertaining to a specific field and interview processes.
• Please wear business casual attire.

We will be holding a keynote speaker panel and two workshops this year! The best part is that we are opening up tickets for the keynote and workshops. But act fast because there is limited seating. The topic for the panel discussion will be Career Preparedness. Both workshops will aim to get designers and marketers ready for the field.
