Describe yourself in one sentence.

I would describe myself to be a spunky people person. I really enjoy getting to know new people and making people feel comfortable around me.

Where do you work/go to school?

I recently graduated from Ball State University with a BFA in Visual Communication.

Favorite program/tools to use for designing?

I use Creative Cloud most often. But I have found myself exploring new apps such as Procreate to strengthen my illustration skills.

Design hero?

A designer/creative that I have been following is Timothy Goodman. I love his large-scale murals and his IG feed is so bright and cheerful. I also respect his honesty and openness about mental health, a topic that some would consider taboo for social media.

Favorite thing to do outside of work?

Some of my favorite things are spending time with my cats, doodling on my iPad, and watching home renovation makeovers. Favorite place in Indy? Newfields! I love visiting the Indianapolis art museum or walking The Gardens, especially during the winter to see Winterlights.

How and why did you get involved with AIGA? Approximately how long have you been involved with the organization?

I became involved in the student chapter of AIGA at BSU sophomore year when I was looking to make connections with other VisCom students. I officially became a member at the beginning of this year in preparing for the AIGA Design Conference.

Any projects you want to highlight?

I recently finished my senior design campaign, Our Voice. Our Voice is a platform for young activists to have their voices heard and to spread notice of upcoming peaceful rallies, marches, and protests. You can check it out on my portfolio website kathleenhamilton.com.
