What is Indy Design Week?

Having evolved from last year’s Indiana Design and Innovation Week, Indy Design Week is the first of its kind for the city of Indianapolis. Organizations and designers from all over the city are coming together to host events promoting and showcasing the multifarious and interconnected forms of design. Each event will give people the chance to meet local designers, learn from each other, and promote collaboration to drive the city forward.

Is AIGA Indy hosting Indy Design Week?

Not exactly. The week’s events are one giant collaborative effort, hosted by multiple organizations belonging to AIGA Indy’s Creative Community Network. In addition to our local AIGA chapter, groups hosting events throughout the week include the Indianapolis chapter of Interaction Design Association, Service Design Network, Newfields, Indiana Historical Society, and the Indiana State Museum among others.

Are the week’s events just for designers?

Absolutely not. While the events throughout the week will focus heavily on design, Indy Design Week is for everyone. Whether you’re a designer or simply someone interested in helping Indianapolis thrive, you’re welcome to attend events and learn how you can apply your skills and knowledge to help build a better creative community.
